I am interested in majoring in finance and maybe double majoring w\ accounting or economics or something

Leave some info on how you liked the college, what youve heard about it and its finance major...i dont expect anyone to give on all of these theres a few : )

TCNJ - The College Of New Jersey

Penn State, University Park

University of Delaware

University of Maryland

University of Virginia

Boston College

Northeastern

Carnegie Mellon

NYU

So what do you know about these schools, their finance program, and did you like any?!

thanks!

I have no personal knowledge, but FWIW US News ranks undergraduate business specialties as follows:

Finance

NYU #2
UVA #8
Carnegie Mellon #10
U Maryland #15
Boston College #17
Penn State #19
TCNJ, U Delaware, and Northeastern unranked

Keep in mind, though, that finance majors will need to take non-finance courses, and consequently the overall ranings of the respective business schools, and the larger colleges/universities of which they are a part, will indfluence the value of the degree.

Overall US News business school rankings for these schools are:
NYU #5
Carnegie Mellon #6 (tie)
UVA #6 (tie)
U Maryland #17
Penn State #21
Boston College #25
Northeastern #65
U Delaware #74
TCNJ unranked

So of this group, I'd say NYU, UVA and Carnegie Mellon are the top tier, followed by U Maryland, Boston College, and Penn State clustered pretty closely together in a secobd tier, with Northeastern, U Delaware and TCNJ bringing up the rear. Not to say you couldn't get a goold education at the latter three.

where did you get all of those rankings? are they free?

BTW, thanks for the info!

University of Virginia

Boston College

Northeastern

Carnegie Mellon

NYU

these are the schools I'd say to go to for finance
TCNJ is a great school if you want something cheap and smaller
