'anyway A-levels is kinda of a bad gauge for academic performance anyway....75 and 95 gives u the same grade A' - so true!

Yes, the SAT is just a test designed to see how good a test taker you are and how familiar you are with the testing pattern. It's no coincidence that most of the highest scorers on the test are those who spend enormous amounts of time and money on expensive test prep courses.

The same is the case with the CBSE boards. I don't know much about the A levels though. But I believe that the TOEFL is a test that will give you much the same result even if you take it "cold". I don't think you can "prepare" for a linguistic ability test in 2 months.

"But I believe that the TOEFL is a test that will give you much the same result even if you take it "cold". I don't think you can "prepare" for a linguistic ability test in 2 months." - dead on. A friend and I gave the test with only 2 days of prep (and no practice tests), and we scored pretty high (the same score no less). I don't think we could've scored any higher even if we'd studied for 3 months.

i agree.. toefl is really easy, especially after being thru SAt preperation. But toefl is just a proof of your english level meeting uni standard. So 110 is not too different as 120
