Thank you!!

Your stats look great. However, I think there have been a few really amazing applicants, academically, that have been rejected ED2. That kind of shocked me because my stats weren't stellar and I got in ED1. My SAT M-740 V-650 and my SATII's were all under 700 by a little. Don't get too sure, you never know what happens! =x

I suggest an interview. My interviewer told me that he interviewed an amazing applicant once. Violin for 8 years, incredible stats, hundreds of volunteering hours, varsity soccer and tennis and he got rejected. He was an interviewer for a looong time and no one ever got accepted. I broke his curse. Woot!

SO!
-keep up the good work
-interview
-have fun senior year! and don't catch senioritis =x

mchlhcm, did you interview on campus? thanks.

fairburn,
Your scores are very good plus the fact that you're from out of state are good factors. Your HS must be very competitive for you to be only in the top 40%. If Pomona is your top choice, I would encourage you to apply ED1. My D's HS had one kid who went four years ago and now two (D included) from this year's graduating class were accepted ED1. Additional students have applied RD and are hoping they'll be accepted as well. PS--D interviewed with an alumnus in our area.

Good luck!

I had an interview off campus.

thanks for the feedback
& congratulations mchllhcm!! i hope you have an awesome time at pomona!

question: so if i apply ED to another school & get rejected (dear god, please no) or deferred (oh god, please no either), i can apply ED2 to pomona?? or is that not allowed since that would be making ED to 2 schools? & would pomona know about my first ED?

You shouldn't care if they know. Either it's against the rules or it isn't. Each college has a policy, and on the application you will sign a pledge agreeing to abide by that particular college's EA, ED or ED2 policy. It doesn't matter if they know if you honored your pledge. The college is assuming you are honest. Only you know if you really are.

ooooo mardad, i think there has been a misunderstanding.
I'm not trying to get my way around rules.
Sorry, I meant would they know about the outcome of my first ED? in other words, hypothetically speaking, if i decided to apply ED2 (and this was allowed), would pomona know about the first school's decison to defer or reject me?
So That's what i was wondering about; i guess i was worrying about maybe pomona would decide on me with the first school's decision in mind. well i pray such a situation would never come to pass in the first place!
By the way, don't worry, i wouldnt dream of trying to violate any ED policy - (totally not worth the risk, completely out of tune with my character, etc.)

based on your stats you look ok for pomona
and with ED1 and ED2 think of it this way

you apply ED1 to a school and when you do that you're saying that if you get accepted then you'll go for sure.
now if you're rejected by that school, that school doesnt care what you do afterwards

when you apply ED2 to a place then you saying again that if you get accepted then you'll go. Which is true, since you already dont have you ED1 school as you're choice. The ED2 school doesnt care that you got rejected by your ED1 school. As long as you fulfill the promise that if you get accepted, you'll attend, then you're fine.

ED is a program with has strict restrictions only on the people who get accepted under it.

thanks charlez for the clarification.
