How are the AP classes at your school?

At my school, we have two AP teachers, and we don't have too many AP's. Just Euro, USH, Macro/Micro, Calc, English lit and Stats. And Euro is a sophomore class, USH is a junior class and the rest are for upperclassmen, excluding the few sophomores and freshmen in calc. The teachers are pretty good. And I think our district was recognized on College Boards AP district honor roll or something like that, considering we aren't a really good district. How are AP's at your school?

We have US Government, Biology, Chemistry, and English Literature.
Biology = junior/senior
Chemistry, English Lit, US Government = senior
The teachers are the same as the ones for the regular subjects.
I’m glad we don’t have as many because there’s no pressure to take a million. You can take all of them in one year.

True! I see some people on CC talking about taking like 5 AP’s a year! How is that even possible? The most anyone could have at my school is 3.

We have Lit, Bio, and USH only taught in school. We are getting Lang next year. But we have a 17 online AP’s that people can take like art hist, bio, comp sci, chem, calc ab, gov, euro, environmental, lang, lit, psych, micro, macro, stats, physics b, WORLD, USH.
Seniors and juniors can take as many as they want but sophs and fresh cant

I’ve taken two online and I’m self-studying another one. So there’s that, but self-study isn’t as much work because there aren’t actually assignments.

I`m taking an equivalent of 5 AP classes this year. .__.

My school has Calc AB & BC, English (both), European History, US History, Govt./Econ., Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, and Human Geography (which is new for us, I believe). We may or may not have Spanish too, but I`m not sure. :/

We have Lang, Lit, Chem, Bio, Physics C, APUSH, APES, Comp, Calc AB and BC, Stat, Psych, Econ (both micro and macro), Studio Art, Euro, US Gov, Comp Gov, French, AP Spanish Lang and Lit, World
We also are an IB school so we offer that stuff too. I’m taking 2 AP’s this year and 4 next year. People can take basically anything they want.
US Gov is a Freshman/Sophomore Class. But the rest are mainly Juniors and Seniors except for a few exceptions.

We have: World History, US History, US Government, Lit, Lang, Spanish, French, Biology, Chemistry, Physics B, Calc AB, Statistics, and Psychology.

We only offer them to Juniors and seniors but sophomores can take world history. The most I’ve seen anyone take is 3 which is my limit. They are A LOT of work. And there is always pressure to take them even though the other schools in my district offer more. I’ve taken 3 this year (Lang, us hist., and psych) and I’m taking 3 next year (lit, gov, and stats). It’s an ok program. A lot of people take them just to get the college credit which makes the program iffy. The teachers are fantastic but the students are bitter.

Sent from my PG86100 using CC

Apparently we’re getting AP Stats and AP Calculus (one of them) next year. I’ve already taken those online so I’m glad I don’t feel pressured to catch up and take them all.

We don’t have too many at my school either, and they are all reserved or juniors or seniors (with the exclusion of World History). We have:

•Calc AB
•Stats
•Bio
•Chem (was planning on taking this as a senior, but they just cut it this year.)
•World History (for sophomores b/c the Regents is at the end of 10th grade. My school started offering this when I was a junior.)
•US History
•European History
•English Lit.

As you can see, I missed out on a couple AP’s, but I was able to take Calc, Bio, and US History junior year and English this year. Plus, the lack of opportunities at my high school gave me a good excuse to bridge.

As for the teachers, they are all fantastic, for the most part. The only complaints I have heard are about the AP World History teacher, but that just might be because sophomores aren’t aware of all the work that is required.

We have English (Lit and Lang), US History, MicroEcon, US Government, Calc AB, Physics B, and every other year Chem, Bio, and/or Enviromental Science.
They cut French, Latin, Calc BC, and Psychology when I entered freshman year. You can’t take any until junior year (unless you ask and people usually don’t).

My school’s AP program is bad. We have:

Biology
Calc AB
US History
English Language
English Literature
Studio Art (***…)

And my Lang teacher is awful. We’re all going to get 2s haha

We’ve got 13 AP classes (not going to list them all) and people can start taking them as sophomores. The teachers are all pretty good, some better than others of course, but overall, very good. We’ve gotten recognized by the National Math and Science Initiative, and I think the AP Lit teacher was AP teacher of the year for our state or something like that a while back.

My school has 28 AP classes. They include: AP English Language & Composition, AP English Literature & Composition, AP World History, AP U.S. History, AP Human Geography, AP Psychology, AP Macroeconomics, AP Microeconomics, AP U.S. Government & Politics, AP Comparative Government & Politics, AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, AP Chemistry, AP Physics B, AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Music Theory, AP Spanish Language & Composition, AP Spanish Literature & Composition, AP Latin: Vergil, AP European History, AP Computer Science A, AP French Language, AP Art History, AP Studio Art Drawing, AP Studio Art 2D, and AP Studio Art 3D. We have some teachers with low pass rates, while others have 100% or near 100% pass rates. We do have some kids take one or both of the AP Physics C exams each year, but they self-studied it as there was not enough interest for even an entire period of people to be in it.

let’s see…
ap lit, ap lang, ap enviro, ap physics (not sure which one), ap bio, ap chem, ap spanish, ap us history, ap european history, ap psych, ap human geo, ap stats, ap calc ab, ap calc bc, ap us gov, ap french, ap german, ap studio art 2d, ap studio art 3d

…so 19 i think? I may be missing some

Any given year we have around 10 APs. Always both English Lit and Lang, USH, Gov, Calc AB, Stats Psych, Bio and Physics B. Euro, Chem, studio art, art history and some others vary by year based on interest. Most of the teachers are good and already have been teaching honors for a while (for example the honors physics teacher became the AP physics teacher as well when my school started offering the class). Most students get a 3+ on most of the exams, a couple exceptions (the psych teacher is known for produce 2s).

Wow, you some of guys have sooooo many AP’s!

We have 24 APs. Most people get a 3+ on the exams. We’ve been named on the AP Honor Roll for three years now.

We have:
Biology, Calc AB, Calc BC, Chemistry, Computer Sci, Eng Lang, Eng Lit, Environmental Science, French Lang, US Gov & Politics, Human Geography, Macro, Micro, Music, Physics B, Physics C M&E, Psych, Spanish Lang, Spanish Lit, Stats, Art 2D/3D/Drawing, US History, and World History
…which is alot. They’re all decent quality too.

We have a lot of APs–from economics, calculus, bio, chem, physics, human geography, art studio, etc… I think we have practically all of the ap classes. My school is like half ghetto half gifted. We have all the druggies and taggers but we also have smart mexicans and especially Asians so that’s why we have so much AP. well I’m only taking 2 AP so far but word is most of the ap classes are freaking easy. Like in AP Bio, we have a grading curve but almost no one will get all right on tests so most people usually end up getting As and Bs. No one in that class has lower than a C. No one. AP English Lang is a joke. The teacher just gives you super easy grammar tests and that accounts for like %50 of our grades. Also there’s no grading curve. Occasionally we may have an essay or two, but that’s rare.

Have a nice day
