How are the SSAT scores sent to the schools?

  1. After you take the test, are the scores automatically sent straight to the school without being sent to you first?
For example... you did horrible on the test, but the scores get scent without you deciding whether or not you want to send them?
  2. Does applying earlier to boarding schools, (around october or november) give you an advantage?

Thanks!

If you think that you didn’t do well after taking the test you can cancel by the Tuesday after the day you took it, I believe. You can’t cancel after seeing what you got.

Unless you apply to a school with rolling admissions, sending in your complete application before the deadline will not affect your chances.

It doesn’t go automatically as far as I’m aware… You can choose to send it to whomever you’d like.

You can choose who gets the scores and when to send them. My kids were advised to take the test early (oct or nov) and get scores before sending them to schools. Also gives you time to retake of you don’t do well.
