I know the AP exams are coming soon! How are you guys preparing them? It's my first time taking an ap exam, so I don't really know what to expect. I spend so much time, I practically breath AP Euro & AP Art His & if I find out I don't pass the exams... I wouldn't knw what to do with myself. So I'm re-reading the both books, for my 3rd time! Tell me your guys' experience & how you're preparing :)

How are you guys preparing for your AP exams?

So far, I’ve only gone through a few practice tests for AP Euro, (and maybe started reading about the Renaissance) but I have made a calendar to spend about two hours twice a week studying particular sections of the material, starting with the Late Middle Ages and the Renaissance. I’m planning to, with my sister, make charts/graphs for each section, emphasizing the important people and events of the section. Then, we will create a possible FRQ question for that section and will write the outline for writing the essay.

That’s pretty much it for now, but it helps that our class will have two extra weeks to study and review for the test.

Smarty, don’t you have some Cahsee tests you should be studying for instead?

I’m preparing for my AP exams by not worrying about them at all. I’m pretty sure I’ve got them under control, and if I don’t I don’t feel like stressing about them. I’m a senior, the worst that can happen is I’ll have to take a college course in one of the subjects, but I already know I like the environment of a college class better anyways. Our AP classes are just college-level work wrapped up in the same tired old high school teaching methods.

If you’re worried about how to adequately study for AP tests, you should ask your consular about it.

I agree with studious, just speak to your consular–they’re the best ones to talk to in these type of emergency situations…

I’m taking english on may 10th, just gonna wing it I think. #YOLO

I am putting a lot of effort into Calc AB. Bought a prep book, have gone over old notes, have done the old tests online. Need a 4+ so I can take Calc II senior year at a state college. Unfortunately our school doesn’t offer Calc BC… We only have 4 AP classes available here (ugh)

I am not putting nearly as much effort into APUSH. We have some mandatory morning study sessions coming up and will be reviewing in class now that we have finished all the material. Hoping for a 5 on that test.

To be honest, I’m probably not doing enough.

I’m taking 5 AP tests this year, but because I’m a senior and I’ve been through this all before I really don’t feel as nervous/anxious about it as I have in the past. I’m going to review and take some practice tests, for sure, but I’ve learned that the tests are never as bad as you think. Plus, most are very generously curved, so if you’ve done pretty well in the class all year and have a good grip on the material I don’t think it’s worth stressing out too much.

That being said though I do need to start looking over everything from first semester Bio…

I would review US GOPO material, but I literally learned nothing in that class because I’m interested in US Politics and learned the vast majority of that info in APUSH.

Comparative is a LOT more interesting, although it’s been more difficult.

Taking the AP Spanish and Calculus AB exams.
Don’t need to study for Spanish at all…
For calculus I’m going over previous tests on the collegeboard website and using the Princeton review book.

i’m not going to study that much at all for them, maybe just a quick refresher of the course material. i think my teachers have prepared me pretty well

I know that I’m going to do fine on AP Lang. It’s APUSH that I’m worried about. I’m basically only studying for the US History subject test I’m taking like a week before because I want to do well on that. Basically everyone in my class has given up on passing the AP exam itself due to the lack of preparation my teacher has given. We’ve basically had to figure out everything about the test ourselves. I’m reading the packets and 5 Steps to a 5 book the other APUSH teacher in my school gave me. That’s about it.

You can cheat your way through them and hope that you don’t get caught this time around.

I’ll working on getting way past the “miss 50% mark” for AP Lit. Took a practice test and did well (in terms of improving) on the multiple choice. The Essay though were a little half-hearted and rushed (don’t know what I got on them).

I really want to pass, I don’t care about the score as long as I get college credits. I do so well in both classes, I usually get 68-80% on my m/c & 3/4 on my essays in Art History & AP Euro. Failing the exams will just disappoint me.

What do you guys think will be covered on the AP Art History Exam this year?

I’m self-studying one, and I forgot I was until today.

^ Thanks for reminding me I still have to start self-studying 3 on top of the ones I just remembered I was taking in school.

I’m self-studying one and taking Bio in school. haven’t really reviewed properly for either of them yet :/

I’m doomed
