How bad does my NHS application look?

Basically I struggle in transportation since neither of my folks can drive [LONGGGG STORY]. I finally picked up my permit and started volunteering.

I have a overall 3.8 GPA, sophomore, taken 2 AP classes, babysitting for 2 years, and volunteered 50 hours at my local hospital.

That's it. We need 20 hours of service to graduate high school. Also, is it hard to get accepted? Any comment would be appreciated!

It’s not hard to get accepted. I doubt you will be even considered for rejection given your GPA.

Really?

Don’t worry if you are not accepted, it is not relevant in college admissions. Colleges do not care AT ALL if you are in NHS or not. Some high schools are tougher than others about admissions, so can’t tell what will happen with the OP. Apply and see… but don’t give it a minute of worry if you don’t get in.

At least in my high school, NHS is really easy to get into, so long you maintain their minimum GPA requirements. Maybe it also depends on the school though.

Either way, it isn’t a big deal if you get in or not

It does depend on the school (I was rejected from NHS at my otherwise noncompetitive rural high school, probably because I didn’t really do any ECs within the school), but it’s not important whether you get in or not.

Yeah, it depends on the school, I don’t think I would’ve been accepted my sophomore year with nothing special about my freshman year to show. --They were quite selective my year then they became lenient for future graduating classes -.-

You have to apply? Weird. At my school, they kind of admit us without telling us, then announce it at awards day assemblies.
