Hello, I was just wondering how big is say, gpa, test scores, etc. in tyre admissions process? I understand that they are all important but can someone make a list of like the top five or so things in order of its importance. This is what I think as of right now.

1) GPA
2) tests
3) rank if applicable
4) essays
5) class rigor

I'm sure mine isn't on par with you guys but that its why I made this thread. That's it, thanks :).

1) Class Rigor
2) GPA
3) Tests
4) Rank
5) Essay

Academic stats outweigh everything else in the admissions process.

I don’t know that colleges look at GPA too much anymore due to grade inflation and the many systems of GPA calculation available. I think rank or approximate rank is more important to them. I’d say:

1) GPA/Rank
2) Tests
3) Class Rigor
4) Essays
5) Involvement (ECs, hobbies, what have you)

That being said, while 1-3 are relatively constant, that is, not much is open to interpretation, essays can make or break your admission if you’re near the “fence” between accept or reject. Problem is, there’s no magic formula for the essays: I’ve seen universal "don’t"s but not so much "do"s.

Good feedback so far!
