As of right now, I'm a freshman in college. I haven't declared any major yet, but I'm leaning toward something in the social science field, maybe economic.

Can someone give me a brief idea what do I need to do now or start working on in order to get a career in investment banking?

Here are a few suggestions:

Take classes in economics and statistics to build you quantitative skills.

Join the Student Gov. Organization in the treasury department.

Do a summer internship.

Make sure that your GPA is a 3.7+

Here are a few links that will go indepth:

You missed the most important criteria:

Go to a top school with a lot of ibanking presence.

I left that out intentionally. In case he's not at a top school, those are the things that he must do. Otherwise, if his grades are good, then he could transfer into those schools.
