I'm a 10th grader (or 9th depending), I want to meet more people and have new experiences as a homeschooler. Ideas? My family is really busy so it's hard to go on a trip somewhere or something.

Where do you live? In a large or medium sized city? Can you take public transportation anywhere? Can you get rides with already existing friends? What are your interests?

We live in a large city and we have a ton of things for my kids to do. True, when they were younger, I was the driver, but that shouldn’t stop you from getting out or even getting on the internet and finding other local homeschoolers.

Is anyone in your family willing to help you even a little bit locally? You don’t have to go on a trip to meet people and expand your horizons.

What are your interests? Have you poked around to see if there are clubs that cater to your interests?

OTOH, if you’re in a small town, it will be harder. You might want to check out local libraries, high schools, theater, etc. to see what other kids your age are doing to stay connected.

Library is a def. A lot of libraries now a days have tons of programs for teens/kids, educational and fun. Otherwise… do you know any other homeschool families? Maybe you could get a pen-pal or email buddy? I dislike homeschool groups (in my area they are lame and snobby to say the least…), but sometimes they host events for all homeschoolers regardless if you are a “member” or not. Also try your local community center/parks and recreation center. Sometimes they will hold classes for homeschoolers or teens in general.
