How Can I get Scholarships' Money?

So, I was awarded a full ride scholarship. I also won 3 other scholarships for a total of 4,500$. I'm still pending on other scholarships. My problem is that the 3 schoalrships I already won will send a check to my college. If they do that, I will lose that money. Soo I want to know:

What can I do so that the scholarship organizations give ME the money, and not my college? (Besides trying to increase my budget)

You only have aright to the scholarships for educational purposes. If your getting a full scholarship a XYZ University then you don't need the other money. Let that go to the runner-up.

You can use the scholarship money for educational purposes (i.e., laptop, docking stations, softwares like MS office suite, Matlab, books, notesbook, papers, paper clips, pen and pencils, computer ink cartridges...etc). Yes you must use the money for your educational purpose

We had this same situation. You are only allowed to receive money up to the cost of attendance at the college. If you receive a full scholarship, it is equal to the cost of attendance. Therefore, any money received from outside sources is used to reduce the amount of the full scholarship. The way to "get around" this is to legitimately raise the cost of attendance. That can be done in several ways. One is to purchase a computer. Our school allows a computer purchase to be charged once per four years. Another is study abroad. Since study abroad usually costs more than the home college, the cost of attendance is increased. Another way would be do research that requires money. Anything that legitimately raises your cost of attendance can be submitted. Of course, it is always up to the college as to what they consider legitimate! I would suggest that you make a friend in the financial aid department and always work with the same person, this way, you won't have to educate someone new in the process every time you submit a request.

Oh cool! Thanks alot for all the info.

I know the "right thing to do" is to decline the scholarship and let the runner up get it. But I come from a relatively poor family. ANY kind of financial help would be GREAT.
