Thank you!
Hi there! Thanks for commenting on my thread! I’m here to return the favor. I think your EC’s are amazing, and the fact that you are from Greece may actually benefit you in the admissions process. Colleges are really starting to value diversity, so that’s a plus. Is English your first language? If not, you may have to take the TOEFL to prove your proficiency. In my opinion, the ACT is easier than the SAT, but take both if you want. I would actually recommend taking it now, just to get the feel of the test. I took it in eighth grade, and got a 26, so I knew what to expect junior year. My final score ended up being a 34, so I don’t know if that contributed or not. Either way, you sound like a really cool, determined person, and I wish you luck in future admissions processes!
English isnt my first language so thank for the advice! I will probably take SAT and ACT in sophomore year and then agin one year later if im not happy with my results. Thanks for commenting!
I am not very familiar with differences for international applicants, but your resume seems very impressive. The Ivies are reaches for everyone, but I would be surprised if you didn’t get into at least one. Then again, when you get to that threshold in college admissions, its impossible to say what may happen.
I believe your GPA and your possible ACT/SAT scores will definitely help you be competitive for the top schools. I also think that you graduating from a greek high school should be a pro, as US colleges really love diversity. Your extracurriculars show commitment and passion, and I think your major should open up major doors for you in the future. Good luck!
Thank you!
Thanks!
Your ECs are at the moment very good indeed. Aim for 34 in ACT and 750+ in SAT subject tests and you will be in good position if you can do good essays and letters of recommendation. Believe in yourself and it’s very much possible. Good luck.
Thanks a lot! Good luck to you too!
I think you have a very good chance of getting into a great American college right now. It’s still early, so I would say keep your grades up and besides that, find some leadership positions. Colleges like people who stand out and will be an asset for them.
Do remember that since you are from a different country, you are applying internationally and that’ll be harder to get into.
Good luck!
Thank you!
