How can I show colleges my interest through social media?

I have a facebook and youtube that I have cleared out to be college appropriate.

What questions should I ask college admissions accounts on facebook and what comments should I leave on their youtube channel? I want to show them that I’m interested in their college so that they mark my name down. Thanks!

Doubtful if any colleges track interest through social media. Visit the campus, visit their booths at college fairs, open every email they send you, don’t ask questions that are answered in the viewbook or website.

my friend took several pics with him at his dream school and showed so much interest.
for some reason i think other schools saw this and he got rejected and he didn’t get into his dream school.
idk if showing interest towards a single school is good’
he goes to his state school now

Be sure the colleges on your list even consider interest. You can find out by looking at their common data set.

Where can I find the common data set for a college?

Can colleges tell if you open their emails?

Yes, the technology exists in most email systems. Whether colleges use it is another issue.

For common data set Google “common data set [college name]”.

How exactly does a college tell if you’ve shown interest? Johns Hopkins is holding an event in my area and I was planning on going, but how would they know if I went there or not? Do they keep some kind of log?

@Amduseus At most such events you register in advance or fill out a card at the event.
