This is a very interesting thread.

My mom said she took the ACT but she was really sick that day and didnât do well at all. I would assume some type of mid 20âs maybe lower 20âs. She didnât end up going to college.
Dad took the ACT but doesnât remember either. I would assume he did well on the math and science portions but I doubt he did very well on the other two sections. He ended up going to community college.

I scored a 34 on the ACT.

So in my case it doesnât look like I received standardized testing ability from my parents.

not applicable

Mother: 1360/1600
Father: Didnât take
Me: 1590/1600

I got the best of the gene pool :).

Mother: 1600/1600 (thank G-d, too, since the high school performance was equivocal)
*Father: 1380/1600 (yet graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford, nonetheless)
Daughter: 2310 (breakdown 800 math, 800 writing, 710 reading)
(both parents got highest possible scores on MCATs)

All I know is that my mom got a 520 on Math and an 800 on Reading, lol.
I got a 770 on Math and an 800 in Reading. Guess math is a weak point for my family? Ha.

My mom and dad lived in Vietnam. So âŠ

Some parent has to do this ⊠remember the SATs were recentered a few years ago ⊠so your parents scores from the past are actually a little better than they appear ⊠typically about 100 points. 3togo, an old geezer, sticking up for his generation.

^^ Mine too. Yay Vietnamese! :D

Mom: Asian aka didnât take
Dad: He forgot. He got into Emory, so I assume it was a good score
Me: FEBRUARY 10TH.

Neither took them. First college student in my family.

1430/1600

My parents went to school in Mexico, soâŠ

I recently did the PSAT and judging by those I got the equivalent of a 1950, though. Ugh, stupid me for not pulling off those last 50 points for National MeritâŠ

My parents donât rememberâŠgood enough to get into Michigan for my Mom and Rose Hulman for my Dad haha

I donât know if my parents took it, but my sister told me she got âeighty-something percentâ (back when it was out of 1600)âŠand when I told her mine, she was like, âoh, you got X percent, thatâs pretty goodâ. Sheâs the kind of person who would find CC bafflingfly humorous.
As for the percentages, I think thatâs how Iâll tell people (if any) my score from now on. =P

Yeah guys the scores were re-centered so thereâs little point in comparing unless you adjust for this.

Whatâs the international exam equivalent?

Oh and for me
Parents: Did not take
Me: ACT 33

Iâm still in Asia so thatâs why my parents didnât take it. They didnât even know about the SAT/ACT until I told them about it.

dad: 1500/1600 (700 V, 800 M)
mom: 1480/1600 (760 V, 720 M)

my january scores havenât come back yet but my PSAT is exactly like momâs scores minus writing
