How diffcult is it to double-major, study abroad, etc.?

I was talking to a senior anthro major at the anthro club station at the open house, and she said that she didn’t get to study abroad because she double-majored. I def want to study abroad, perferable more than once haha, but I’m also considering double-majoring in anthro and Spanish, which is what she did…is it possible to graduate in 4 years with study abroad, double-majoring, etc?

DD graduates in a week. Double majored. Had a fantastic semester away. Joined a sorority. And is headed to a terrific graduate school. So yes, you can do it.

^ Sweetness!

rbouwens, my D just graduated (today!) from Beloit with a double major in History/French. She had not one but two semesters off-campus. She enjoyed both immensely and had no problem fulfilling the requirements for the double major.

Wow! That’s strange how some people can do it and others can’t…

I’m sure the majors have a lot to do with it. I suspect it might be more difficult with the hard sciences or with education (because of student teaching requirements). I would think that your choice of anthropology/Spanish would correlate nicely with some of the abroad programs. If you let your advisor know right away that you are interested in study abroad and a double major, he/she will set you on the right academic path.
