How do Architects view Interior Designers and vice-versa

I've seen several architects who are also interior designers, and my daughter has indicated an interest in interior design. As an academic path would a BS or a BFA in Interior Design reasonably be followed by a possibly fast track masters in Architecture?

From my admittedly non-art oriented brain, the two degrees seem complimentary and very intertwined with the architects running the show, but calling in Interior Designers as needed. Do they work well together in practice because I'm detecting a bit of dissing from both directions within the academic world.

Another issue I'm seeing is the variations in naming the Interior Design degrees. While in most cases, the degree is offered as one of Interior Design, RISD calls theirs Interior Studies, SAIC-Interior Architecture and DAAP offers their Interior Design degree within its School of Architecture and Interior Design where its Architecture Students and Interior Design Students take the same classes their first year. Is their a wide variation in the focus of the programs?

So after hashing out the similarities and differences where would each degree fall on a graph with creativity on the x-axis and STEM technical skills on they y-axis?
