Do colleges only look at your overall score, or do they look at the individual scores from each of the three sections?

For example if you have one SAT scores like 600 750 750 and another that's 700 700 700 are there any differences to how these scores weigh in terms of college admission?

Of course they look at the breakdown. For example, if you’re applying as a science or engineering major, they’ll care more about the math score than about English. If you get 600 math and 800 reading and writing, you’re clearly not meant for something like physics. Just make sure that you don’t have a weakness in a subsection that is closely related to your major.

People say that reading and mathematics matter more than writing- which you can clearly see is the case at UChicago and Cornell.
