How do colleges 'really' look at your GPA?

Hi, I am really concerned with GPA issue...

I go to international school in foreign country and we use 0-100 US grading system.

What concerns me is that every school has different grading system and different teachers have different standards of 'A'.

For example, in my math class, (I take most advanced math class) I earned 83% (which is B-) but I was the best student with highest grade. The teacher doesnt really care about percentage grade, and makes the test really hard to prepare us for IB exam.

However, in my english class, I earned 94% (A), but I didnt do anything, and was like lower half of students in english class. The teacher simply gives out free grades such as participation, homework, and easy quizzes and literally 90% of students have A.

For whole year, I worked for my math wayyy more than I did in English. However, my gpa on transcript tells me I am much better student in English class.

I find this really confusing. And I am sure other schools also have this problem because different teachers have different standards of A,B,C,D, and F.

How will colleges look at this???? also, what happens if student in local high school with 99% gpa in AP Calculus class gets 2 on AP exam, but student in private school with 75% gpa gets 5 on Ap exam? It is very clear who is simply better in AP calculus, but in GPA wise, a student with 2 will get much better shot in college admission.

I find this terribly confusing.. Thank you!
