My mom's basically making me do this all independently. I have a box of letters I got from colleges. And a huge folder of BS/MD Colleges and details on that my mom printed. (whatever that is) HELP! What do I do?
Do I narrow my choices by comparing SAT and GPA? What else?? (I dont really care for location/weather)
Where do I find the percentiles for the colleges SAT and GPA? Aren't there hundreds of thousands of colleges out there??

What do you want to study? What are your vital statistics, and how do they compare to the admit ranges of various schools (Start with, lets say, an Ivy League school, your state flagship, a smaller state school or private university, and NYU for a good idea of the range).

How big a student body do you want? What sort of campus life (heavily greek-life dominated, liberal arts college, etc.). More academic tilt, or more pre-professional, or more party centered?

Answer these questions, and you’ll have a better guide. Also, check TPR’s college calculator/ college finder.

I know, colleges are confusing…if you read some of the letters, you’ll probably discover that there are certain qualities and schools that stand out to you. Then you can start researching schools based on these qualities. Also, CollegeBoard and other sites have surveys that you can fill out that will give you lists of schools that might be good fits for you. This might be a good place to start.

thanks any more help?
