How do I do better in physics?

So I’ve never been good at physics but I decided to take it this year because I’m going into pre-med next year. I understand most of the material but somehow I’m not doing that well. I go to a private school and I do very well in my classes, with the exception of physics. I’m good at biology and chemistry, just not physics. How can I do better? It’s mostly the problems that are stumping me. I do very well on the definitions and basic knowledge of the concepts, but when I go to the word problems I don’t do very well. Most of the students in my class don’t do very well either. Our teacher phrases the word problems in a way that is very difficult to read and understand. Some people are thinking about talking to him about it.

How can I do better? I’m pretty much relying on my lab reports to keep my grade up in this class. We have quizzes every week. Are there any online resources for me? Do I just study more?

Have you checked out Khan Academy? I haven’t taken physics, but their calculus videos are awesome!
