How do I pass Chemistry with an A or B?

I am an engineering major. My school requires at least one science class. That’s fine. I’m not bad at science. There’s a few different campuses at my school. A smaller one is less than 5 minutes from my house. That’s the one I’m attending. This semester, I changed my major from business to engineering. My adviser talked me into taking a chemistry class. I told him I fail chem in high school. He said I might do better with it. Well, I’m not. I’m having the same problem I did before. I don’t really understand it. If it’s simplified, I totally understand it. I tried talking with my teacher and she didn’t really seem very interested in helping me. My aunt is a chemistry genius and she uses it for her job. She said she’ll help me but, when she gets out of work, I’m going to work. I managed to get a B on the first test in chemistry. I know I can do it but, it’s really hard for me. I don’t want to fail this class. I want to pass it with an A or B. I know I can do it, I just don’t know how. I don’t want to drop anything because it’ll affect my GPA. There’s no chemistry tutor on this campus. There IS a math tutor who took this class last semester and she’s willing to help me. The times she’s there, I’m usually in class. I’m not sure what to do here. How do I pass with an A or B? It’s not the material that’s the problem, it’s understanding it.

I’m not sure what Chemistry areas are in your course. But I have heard good student feedback on a variety of subjects / levels for Kahn Academy (free online). - https://www.khanacademy.org/science/chemistry. If you failed chem in high school, maybe you just need to get refresher on that info to have better foundation. Sometimes seeing info from a different perspective helps

" It’s not the material that’s the problem, it’s understanding it." - That part confused me, but maybe the link can help.
