So I have submitted my applications and waiting to hear responses from my schools. I have picked schools across the country and some nearby. I keep changing my mind on what my favorite school is. I am so lost on what I want and now think I should apply to more schools. Any suggestions on how I can narrow what I really want in selection?

if you haven’t yet considered affordability, run the net price calculators and show the results to your parents. That can help eliminate schools but also tell you if you need to add some.

After doing this, visit the schools you have left. Contact students there. Arrange an overnight and do the things and visit the parts of the campus that are important to you. Interview the students. Eat the food. This really helps.

Agree with visits. Your window of time between admissions and decisions can be really short, depending on the schools, so visiting some now still might be a good idea.

If you can’t visit, do the following if you haven’t yet:
- Go on any online tour on the admissions website.
- See if the school paper is online and read it.
- Look at old threads out here to read more about the college.
- Review the academic web pages on the majors you are interested in. See what classes are required, what is offered. Read the biography info on the profs and their areas of research.

I doubt adding more schools will reduce your angst or give you better choices at this stage.
