On a square game board that is divided into n rows of n squares each, K of these squares lie along the boundary of the gameboard. Which of the following is a possible value for k ?

The Answer is 52, It took me 3 min.

I want to save as much time possible in the coming Sat test

It has to satisfy this :

4x - 4 = ?

Where x is an integer.

It has to be a multiple of 4 because each side has the same number of boundary squares.

I’m assuming that 52 was the only choice that was a multiple of 4?

^^Right.

Because you have a board that has dimensions n x n. So the outside squares are going to be n+n+(n-2)+(n-2) = 4n-4

Just in case you wanted to see where gensis got his answer from.

That’s right 52 was the only choice that was a multiple of 4, thx guys for your help
