At my school, you're limited to 3 AP classes per year due to scheduling, and you're only allowed to take AP's besides World History during your Junior and Senior year.
There's typically only 1 AP teacher per subject at my school. Are people self studying or is my school just terribly low on AP teachers?

you’re low on AP teachers.

Your school is very unusual.

Most schools allow students to take as many APs and they want to take, but they don’t recommend the students to make “too many.”

My school has 7 periods per day and you can take 6 APs without any problems If you want to take 7, you have to submit a written request. This shouldn’t be a big deal for you when applying for colleges, though! Colleges look at what you were offered.

My school only has one AP teacher per subject, too, but they usually have at least 2 sections of it, and many have 3. So scheduling tends to work out for as many as you want.

My D’s school had a stupid principal last year that put more than half of the AP classes in the 7th hour as the school district was proposed to charge extra for the 7th hour. The charge was finally waived as there was law suit threatened by some parents. At the end, this arrangement screwed up the schedule for most students who want to take more AP classes due to inevitably time conflict. My D ended up taking only 3 AP in Senior.

My school actually really encourages AP’s and allows certain qualified students to take extra AP’s before class, like a “0” period. My friend is taking 7 this year; I took 5.
