How do they actually review your applications?

Do they separate your applications into different pools by different departments? like, engineering--->some reviewers, social studies--->some others, etc.

Do they also separate your applications into different pools by geographical locations? like, West, South, Mid, International, etc?

Or do they separate by other means?

As the former Dartmouth adcom said in her book, Ivy leagues separate applications by region. There is a regional officer responsible for his/her region.

They hang all of the applications up on a board and throw darts at them. If a dart hits your application then CONGRATULATIONS you're in.

Go Beyond: This is actually a featured thread in this forum. I have posted extensively on it, and it answers this question and more!

No waterfall, you obviously don't know ANYTHING about admissions. They actually spread all the applications on the floor and spill pint on them. The ones that escaped the sticky paints get in. Dah.

What?! I painted my whole application to make it pretty so the darts wouldn't hit it! D**n
