How do we get University of Cincinnati added to forum?

The University of Cincinnati is one of the best and biggest schools in the country. However, I can’t find them on the college forum. Can you add them to the list?

They seem to add only the “elite” colleges to the forum list. Besides UC, they don’t have forums for Kent, Cleveland State, or Univ of Akron. My guess is they either hate Ohio schools, or they do not put them on there because noone would post in them anyways. Look at the BGSU forum, there is like 1 post.

Joev, Univ of Cincinnati is an elite school with regard to certain programs such as design, architecture and music. They also have some other outstanding programs too, plus it’s a very big school. Thus, I can’t understand why it isn’t added.

By the way, it is both bigger and has a better reputation for the most part than the other Ohio schools that you mentioned.

UC is on the same tier as BGSU and only one tier ahead of Kent, Cleveland State, and Akron. Plus I would hold KSU’s architecture and fashion schools over UC’s any day of the week.

joev: I would have to agree with taxguy. UC’s architecture school, in many specific fields in architecture, has been ranked #1. KSU isn’t even in any rankings.

Not only is Univ of Cincinnati in top 3 of architecture but also top 3 in Interior Design. It is also, among the top 10 in industrial design too. It’s engineering program is quite good too. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why it hasn’t been added. I even send a private message to Roger_Dooley to no avail.

It’s not an “ivy league” name like MIT or Stanford. That’s about the only reason I can think of.

Schools like Bowling Green State Univ, Coe College, East Caroline State,Carrol College and many others on the alphabetical list are certainly less “named” schools that University of Cincinnati.

Cincinnati is also number one in country in Interior design and one of the tops in graphic design and has one of the only transportation desilgn curriculum in the US. It has a top rated medical school and many other advantages. Please add them to the alphabetical forum.

If UC gets added to the forum, I want Kent State (35 anniversary of shootings) Cleveland State, and Akron added. Why aren’t all these big state schools on the list of colleges anyways?

I have no objection to adding any college, but UC is MUCH bigger than either Kent State and Cleveland state. In addition, none of the schools that you mentioned have nationally ranked programs in the top 20 departments as with UC. in fact, UC is ranked in the top 5 in a number of departments.

Also note that Kansas State and Univ. of Kansas is on the list and UC is bigger than either of these in enrollment and has more highly ranked programs based on US News and World Report than either one of these. This is not to say that Univ of Kansas, where my uncle attended, is a bad school. However, UC should absolutely be on the list.

Roger, please add University of Cincinnati to the college forum list.

Regardless of UC having some top five programs, it is about the same size as KSU, not much bigger. (26,817 vs 24,242 about a 2600 student difference) When you take into account all the campuses (or is it campii?) in both the systems, Kent actually comes out ahead (35,054 vs 33,823) Still both wonderful schools though. This board just has no love for Ohio schools. Look at the entire SUNY school listings or all of the University of California listings. No Ohio love.

Joev, Now you are making sense. This board has all the SUNY schools and CA schoolsl. What is wrong with some more Ohio Schools. UC is nationally ranked in a number of fields, has people from all over the US attending it, and has a huge enrollment.

WE NEED TO ADD University of Cincinnati to the alphabetical listing!

UC’s College-Conservatory of Music or CCM as it’s known is also considered one of the top-ranked theater schools in the country. I saw a post somewhere recently on the MT forum that NY agents consider it their first stop for talent. Wish I could find it again. Which brings to mind another problem is that the search engine on this site rejects a lot of acronyms like UC and CCM because they’re too short!

That’s true, I must be missing some really good threads…I wonder if there’s a way to fix this, but I don’t think there is

Please add Univ of Cincinnati added to the forum. You have Carrol college, Coe college both of whom taken together doesn’t equal the enrollment of Cincinnati. In fact, Cincinnati’s enrollment exceeds probably 90% of the college listed on the forum ,plus it has some highly ranked programs.

I can’t believe that Hendrix College and Kalamazoo College are here but not University of Cincinnati.

I think what they did when the forum switched over to the new format they just took whatever colleges were added by people to the previous forum format and added them to the alphabetical college list. It does seem strange that tiny schools that noone has ever heard of but three or four people like (read:Centre College?) get added at the drop of a hat, but fine institutions such as UC and Kent State are left out in the cold.

I agree with you, taxguy, but Hendrix and Kalamazoo aren’t good examples to back up your claim - they are both very popular, “quirky” liberal arts colleges.

Well Kirst, they have schools like Deep Springs college, Embry-Riddle, Alfred University, Univ. of Missouri Rolla, Cornell College, Colby College etc. Univ. ov Cincinnati is bigger than any one of them and probably bigger than all of them combined! Cincinnati also has some top ranked national programs that few of these mentioned (other than Embry-Riddle for aeronautics) can claim.
