How do you activate your Stanford email?

haha, silly question, but I just confirmed my decision online last night (and paid by credit card) and am very excited about having an @stanford.edu address. :) But how do I activate it? Will Stanford send a confirmation email or something?

Thanks! Can't wait to see you all at Stanford!!

it's already activated. your email address is "your SUnetid here"@stanford.edu.

then go to webmail.stanford.edu to check your mails.

and then join facebook.

and then go to stanford.

and then graduate.

and then go back to taiwan and lead an independence movement.

Good stuff

Haha thanks...:)

Independence movement............?

I, too, just confirmed my enrollment, but whenever I login to webmail.stanford.edu, then hit "webmail.stanford.edu", I get a "redirection limit exceeded" alert.

Hmm. Might be because Stanford's webmail server is being bombarded with a ton of redirection requests. Try setting up your Stanford webmail to work with a client like Thunderbird, it's far cleaner and easier anyway. Oh, and be sure to use IMAP, POP is uselsss.

Well, this is just a workaround though - I dislike e-mail clients, actually. I wonder if anyone else is getting the redirection limit alert.

I can't even get the page.. I just get a 404 after like 2 minutes.

I can't get MS Outlook to connect either. I tried the directions on the Stanford site.

Hmm. Did you make sure to indicate that you're connecting from off-campus/remote network?

I can just barely make it into Mobile Mail, and I confirmed my facebook network lol. But I still can't get into webmail.

how can i get my stanford mail forwarded to a gmail account?

Go to http://stanfordyou.stanford.edu
Click "Change settings for account 'X'"
Where it says "Forward email to another address", click "change..."

thanks :)

(btw- did anyone know that cc posts have to longer than 10 characters. i just found that out when i tried to reply with a simple 6 character "thanks" :p)

Yes - you can see that in this thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=269579 where people had to come up with creative ways to get 10 characters :) (examples include spaces, periods, faces...)
