Roscoe, why do you say that "the lady treated him like dirt"?

Sorry to say this but U of M is so messed up right now, it cannot be a good place to be for any of us. Ever since prop 2 passed they have been stewing and simmering up anger over the 'people' telling them what they can and cannot do. They immediately filed for an injunction the day after Prop 2 passed. They requested that Prop 2 not take effect until 2008. The Judge threw it back at them and said NO. So they were beaten at the polls and then humiliated in court.
Now they are out to prove they can make their own "diversity/affirmative action" criteria.
They have picked on white males, many instate, especially those with a lot of legacy. They first deferred them and then rejected them outright on the latest possible date they could manage.
I feel sorry for anyone who goes to U of M. It will be a really messed up place.

Hi zkevin - Son said she was just really curt, and cut him off in mid-sentence, and wouldn't believe he didn't have a third link.

But listen, Admissions is under a lot of stress right now as others have pointed out. Maybe I'm going too far with the Michigan bashing. It's a great school with great academics, the diploma carries a lot of clout, and the kids still have a lot of fun too. Congrats to all who are going there.

ps2610......you want to back up those statements with some actual proof.

Want to know the other funny thing about those deferred white males? the instate ones, especially those with a lot of legacy? They had sub par stats and applied late. Sure there are exceptions, but I promise there are plenty of white, instate, males (some with legacy :O) who had been accepted in a timely fashion and treated kindly.

Just wanted to point out some things Roscoe. Almost everytime I called the admissions office, I felt a similar way when I was deferred. I quickly realized however, that it was because the people in the admissions office were familiar with people asking the same questions, and were trying to get past each phone call as fast as they could so they could help more people. Sure, I disliked Michigan a bit there, but after getting a decision a mere three weeks later, you can bet that I liked Michigan (especially considering I was accepted :P).

Anyways, I'm glad to see that perhaps you might have gone a little too far with Michigan bashing. It's reasonable that your mad your son still hasn't received a decision. I was too when I was deferred...

ps2610:

Well I'm a legacy, in-state, but not white (I'm asian).

Yet, I was deferred Oct, accepted three weeks later...guess that's proof of the opposite of what you said...

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, thanks for giving my point more impact.

Well, gosh, if I don't are you going to hurt me?
