How do you compare SAT subject test scores?

That’s the thing - I live in Lebanon, so basically, English is at a pretty weak level. My old school was American (literally), so it was excellent at English. For example, I left there in fourth grade to come to this school, and the English I learned there is still leaps and bounds better than this school’s. However, that school was way weaker in sciences and math.
I believe there’s only, at most, 5-10 2400’ers per year. And I’ve only heard of 2 for this year, from this other school, which is French-educated (the French curriculum is much more rigorous than ours, which is probably why they get better grades on CR than English-educated schools - not to mention the Latin-based word origin, and French schools are ACTUALLY French schools to the dot - English schools don’t put an emphasis on the English part) - but basically, even though their curriculum is more difficult, our schools is still better at Maths and sciences - fact. It’s actually the top rated. I believe that we’re weaker than we should be at languages though (Arabic aside - so by languages I mean English and French which are standard here). Other than that, definitely the top school in the country - lacking in English - resulting in the lack of 2400’s.

Oh, woops. I just assumed that “this country” was the US. Apologies.

Chris, you said that for MIT there is no difference once when I’ve crossed a threshold value which happens to be around 750 for Math II, is this score valid for other tests too? I mean does it make a difference if I get a 780 or 800 in Physics?

The “threshold” value depends on the test, but once you cross into the 700s on any section of any test you’re generally in a pretty safe zone. Our website says 650, but I like to say 700 because it doesn’t leave as much room for error.

In your example - no, 780 vs 800 in physics doesn’t matter.

Thank you a lot for answering this question. When you have such highly qualified competitors, you get anxious even about small things and I just got a little anxious after getting my scores.
