How do you plan on paying for a Drexel Education?

Today, I got my decision back and found out it was less than $20,000.

I have three questions concerning this:

(1) The title of this thread: How do you plan on paying for a Drexel Education that can range from $35,000 to $47,000 per year?

(2) I know a girl in my school who had much lower stats had got $26,000 a month ago. How does Drexel decide who gets the scholarship and how much they get? I know that the girl was not low-income and much lower stats than me.

(3) Can Drexel satisfy full-need if you can show Drexel you really need more money? Or will they screw me over with more than $40,000 per year or $160,000 plus interest?

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I got 28,000 a year. Drexel is a very expensive school, you have to make sure that being in debt after college is worth going to Drexel. My major (music industry) is really good here and to me, it’s worth it. Also keep in mind that the price is not as expensive in subsequent years because the dorms are almost $1000 a month and you are required to live there your first year. After that you can find housing off campus which is way cheaper, and you only have to do the meal plan the first year as well.

I have no idea how Drexel chooses it’s scholarships. I know you can petition to get more, but how often they actually change their decision I couldn’t tell you.

I don’t think they do scholarships that cover 100% of the costs, but you can always apply for outside scholarships. Personally I got work study, you can get a job which will cover some costs, take out some government loans, and my parents are taking out some loans as well. It’s all about whether the cost is worth the outcome.

I’m curious… was your aid listed on the Financial Aid section of your “Discover Drexel” page? I got notice of one scholarship ($3k) but haven’t filed my FAFSA yet. How do you know when you have the total financial aid package?
