How do you study for the Critical Reading section.

Are there any ways that you can study for the critical reading section and work to improve your score except for memorizing words. I'm currently memorizing Direct Hits and i want to do more to increase my score but I don't know what I can do.

wow i got bumped down by the countdown posts.

So, BUMP

I know this may sound odd, but read the news-paper daily. It’s a great way to practice speed-reading, is filled with complex words, aids retaining read information, and it makes you a more informed person (at least in current events).

Sleep on a book. Osmosis.

^ how i get my studying down,about 3 periods a day.

Do practice sections from the BB and actually review why you got what you did wrong.
Make sure your answer is supported by the text. If it’s not, it’s wrong. Plain and simple. I’m hoping this strategy got me an 800 on the Oct 2009 SAT, but we’ll see :)

Do you use the method where yoyu put the reference in brackets, and answer it like that? If you do, can you explain if you go further than that sentence before you answer the question?

Reading whatever you can get your hands on, but that’s already been suggested. It sounds like you’re already hitting the vocabulary, so how are you doing on the passages? They’re unfortunately a lot harder to prepare for…at least with sentence completions, you know you have to study vocab. The best thing I can tell you is to just analyze your mistakes on practice problems. The same types of questions come up over and over, and the more you do, the more you’ll be able to avoid making the same mistakes.
