Does Emory recalculate GPA like Georgia Tech and UGA (only count core classes; adds an additional half point to AP/IB classes)? Does anyone know where I might find this information?

Thanks!

I don’t know about that, but I do know they count A-'s as 4.0 and B+'s as 3.0, etc.

dunno about Emory, but most colleges do not have the resources to recalculate high school transcripts, nor do they need to. A gpa + class rank + high school profile tells the adcom all s/he needs to know. The latter tells the adcom how competitive the school is, such as 10% of the class are NMSF’s (quite impressive)…

I talked to the admissions office and they said they recalculate it on a common grading scale with the lowest A- at a 90%, lowest B- at an 80%, etc.
