How does Hopkins feel about homeschooled students? A few other questions within too!

Hi there! How does Johns Hopkins feel about homeschooled students do you think? I can't find any information online... I was homeschooled for 2 years of high school after a car accident left me unable to attend classes. In my state, you get a certificate saying that you completed the necessary work (equivalent to a "real" high school education), and my parents kept grades/GPA (based on test scores). Do they even accept homeschooled students? Are there other special requirements (i.e. additional tests, essays, doctors' notes, etc.)? THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

P.S. About Johns Hopkins testing requirements, if you take the ACT, do you have to take any additional SAT II subject tests? Or is it just required with the SAT? Thanks again! :)

What do you require of home-schooled applicants?

As stated in the above post (and our FAQ list which was linked), the overall admissions requirements are not any different for home-schooled applicants. We do not hold home-schooled students to any higher (or lesser) standard, and expect a complete application from such students. See the FAQ answer for details on what to send in.

The one suggestion I have for home-schooled applicants is to submit an additional written statement discussing their experiences with being home-schooled. This helps the Admissions Committee put one’s individual situation into context when reviewing the application.

Hope that helps.
