How does MIT choose its students?

<p>I definitely didn’t do anything academically impressive (in terms of MIT people), and I got accepted! If you asked me, I think my grades, SATs, and achievements were “enough” to be considered for MIT, but I think what really got me accepted was my innovation and accomplishments through my art. I think my portfolio showed a natural interest to explore and delve into my art, which is what MIT admissions officers like I guess (this is just my belief). I also think showing your personality through essays helps.</p>
