How does the Capstone diploma look to colleges?

I’m in AP Seminar currently and will take AP Research next year in hopes of obtaining the Capstone diploma. My seminar teacher and the teacher who taught seminar before her both said that the Capstone diploma makes your applications look better and that colleges are putting students enrolled in the class at the top of their admissions lists( this might not of been their exact wording. I’m recalling this after two years but I remember them saying something along those lines or that it makes you look more competitive). I just wanted to verify those statements out of curiosity.

Thanks in advance.

Speak with your guidance counselor about this. Your high achool should have complete records of where every student has applied in recent years, and where they have been accepted. That data will give you a good notion of whether this diploma is of value for you.

Unless your teachers sit on college admission committees at the places you are targeting, they may not have particularly accurate information about the admission proces at those institutions.

That is exactly that they say about the IB diploma, I think that she might be stealing the IB narrative LOL. Ask for proof.
