How does the Common APP site work?

<p>I mean reccomendation wise. Can the guidance counselor and teachers just type their reccomendation in??? How does it work?</p>

<p>What you do is:</p>

<ol>
<li><p>Ask your teacher/counselor if they would be willing to write a recommendation for you.</p></li>
<li><p>Ask if they would like to do it on paper or online.</p></li>
<li><p>Under School Forms on the CommonApp, click the "INVITE" button.</p></li>
<li><p>If they elect to do it by paper, put in all their information EXCEPT their email.
If they want to do it online, put in all their info, including their email.</p></li>
<li><p>If you put in their email, they will be sent an email. The email will contain a link to the CommonApp recommendation page. They will log in there and fill out the forms online.</p></li>

From the main Common App page, click on "Common Questions....For School Officials". There are two ppts and two pdfs.</p>
