How far away do you want to go for college?

South to NE! Possibly West Coast but I’m pretty determined to go East

I didn’t apply to any schools in my city so that pretty much shows how much I want to get the hell out and explore a new city. The closest school to my city that I applied to was Chapman while my farthest schools are those in New York.

far away

iono
I wanna either

 1. go to Cal, which is a 2 hour drive from my place
 2. go accross the country to east coast
 3. go volunteer peace keeping in the Congo Republic

Anywhere in the US

6 hours minimum. i want to go to Cali or East Coast (maybe South), but U of MN is good.

The US would be nice.

I want to go really far away…like 10 hours drive or so, but i just want to get away. i’m deciding between a college that is 10 hrs away but very isolated/rural and a college that is 2hrs away but a moderate sized city w/ lots to do (duke). i’m hoping that i get into one of the three ivies i applied to which are all located near good cities or towns.

I really want to go to college in California, which is literally across the country for me, since I live in New Jersey.

The optimum distance would be about an hour and a half away (from here, near Milwaukee, to Madison). That way, travel home is no problem at all, and with 2 older sibling having gone to Madison I know from experience that my parents won’t randomly come.

However, I’m going to end up going to Minnesota, about 5 1/2 hours away. This will eliminate visits from parents for sure, but I’ll get tired of sitting on a bus for that long when I come back, though I’ll only be back a couple times a year.

I just mostly want to stay on the west coast. The closest college is Willamette which is about 50 minutes from my house, but the others are a couple of hours drive (at least). Three of the colleges I applied to are in CA, but I might end up at Whitman, if their FA is good.

I am in Alabama and I want to get as far away as possible. The closest school I’ll be possibly going to next year is Duke which is a ten hour drive. Farthest is Dartmouth(likely) at 19 hours.

Stanford (where I got in and want to go) is 27ish hours and about 3000 miles from where I live, North Carolina.

I want to go somewhere else; I love North Carolina but it’s time to experience the world.

The only nearby college I want to go to is Duke, about 20 miles away. Otherwise it will be either West Coast or Northeast.

My dream school (Northwestern) is only 40 minutes away :D

I would really like to go to the American Lunar University but my mom’s a little iffy on spaceflight and ****

FAR. It’s not so much getting away from my family as it is getting away from New England. I hate it here and refuse to consider a school that’s less than 10 hours away.

Part of me wants to go off and experience a place that is completely different from the one that I have lived in all my life. Another part of me wants to stay close to home because I am very close with all of my family. Tough decision!

I’ll probably end up in Seattle or Georgia (I live in Oregon)

But I ended up going to Rice, which is 22 hours away from home by car. Almost as good as being on the moon.
