How much that counts will depend on your year. If you are a rising sophomore and will demonstrate 2 solid years of excellent work following this set-back, and your guidance counselor will explain the difference, then maybe.
If you are a rising senior, then probably not. It’s not enough to provide excuses for average work. You need to provide evidence that you are capable of working at an advanced level.
