<p>First of all, going to H/Y/P/S would make taking out $20k in debt over a state flagship worth it, in my eyes, because having gone to that school means something to people.</p>

<p>That said, is it your opinion that Brandeis is this good of a school? I don’t care about rankings necessarily, and I know fit is a separate issue to deal with, but is that same $20k just as justified for Brandeis as for Harvard? Will graduating from Brandeis make me feel like passing up other experiences was definitely worth it?</p>

<p>Well, going to any school “means something” to “people.”</p>

<p>The key thing is what that “something” is and are the “people” in question people that matter?</p>

<p>The answer to this question will vary from school to school and from program to program.</p>

Again, it really depends. If you’re trying to do this as an ROI analysis, it’s not going to work.</p>
