How hard are the MCAT's?

Sorry for the idiotic/dumb title, but that is the basis of my problem :/. And sorry if I posted this in the wrong section of the forum, I'm a newbie.

So I have the choice of either studying abroad in Poland/India/etc. or head to a college like UCSD, etc.

Now the problem is, I'm not sure when it comes down to it that I can pass the MCAT :/. My dad was telling me of his friends son, who studies, took courses, etc. and couldn't pass, and I know theres many people who don't pass.

But I was curious how much programs/courses for MCAT prep help, like do they provide a simliar expierence to the MCAT's? This is a big dillema for me, and help would be very much appreciated.

(P.S. I live in the US, and sorry for the spelling/grammar errors)

If you can’t get at least a average score on the MCAT, you aren’t going to pass the Step 1 or the Boards. Thus, you will not be able to ever practice in this country. Trust me, all of those year of wasted tuition dollars in Poland aren’t worth dodging the MCAT. Go to college at UCSD, take the MCAT when you are ready, and then (and only then) onsider alternative options for medical school outside of the US. If you don’t get into medical school, at least you will have a recognizable degree from a recognizable university.

MCAT prep courses are useful, but they are short cuts more than ways to obtain a previously unobtainable score. I personally felt that Kaplan provided adequate practice materials, but worry abou this in a couple years.
