Hi. I am taking precalc honors right now(Methods I IB), and I am selfstudying AB and BC. I have been looking at the kids at school, and they are doing super hard looking problems. In all honesty, could I go through that study guide, Master the AP Calculus AB/BC Exam, occasionally doing some practice problems out of the textbook I have, and get a 5? I am finishing all of derivation today, plan to spend two months on integration, and then just review the rest of the year.

Double post'D.

I had two mediocre community college classes (Calc 1 and 2), did self-study for the rest out of the Barron's AP Calc book. It is possible to get a 5 on both exams this way, but you have to do real practice exams and problems, and you have to do about two hours a day (especially starting from this point on). And do the problems timed.

Sagar what was the point of posting the question in here?

This would have been better in High School Life or SAT Preparation.

Plus I thought you wanted to go to MIT?

If the BC is trouble for you, you shouldn't be applying to either Caltech or MIT. That level of Calculus is something that you really need to understand intuitively, as it will show up everywhere.
