Would I be better off using AP Credit for Macro Econ and Pre Matriculation credit for micro econ and entering econ 55D? Or should I start with intro econ 51D. A duke academic officer said it may be a better idea to start over with 51, but I hear that econ 51 is really hard.

55D. It is curved a lot nicer than 51. Furthermore, you will not be significantly more prepared for 55 if you retake 51, or at least not enough to risk getting a low grade.

As a rule of thumb at Duke, if you can use AP credit/transfer credit for classes, it is to your advantage to do so.

What if your only taking the AP macro test and not the micro. is it still possible to place into 55D?

Unfortunately, Duke requires you to have both Macro and Micro in order to place into 55D

darn, but i guess that means i can have a nice nap on Thursday :)

Yeah I was going to start studying for econ but I guess I don’t have to lol
