How hard is it to have a social life if I don't go Greek at a school with a big Greek system

One of the schools I’m looking at is mizzou, and I know the Greek system there is a pretty big deal, but I don’t really think the Greek system is for me. I was just curious how hard is it to meet people and still have an involved social life without joining a fraternity.

http://www.collegedata.com/cs/data/college/college_pg05_tmpl.jhtml?schoolId=1772 says that 31% of women and 24% of men participate in sororities and fraternities at Mizzou. So there should be plenty of social life outside of sororities and fraternities there.

I agree with above. Schools in the Midwest tend to have Greeks. Many students especially first year kids live in dorms that provides them with an immediate choice of friends. Further dorms are often very close together so you will have ready access to other students who share classes or spend time out side. You will also attend classes with students who are members of Greek houses, and are probably really nice too. Do watch the sororities early fall ceremonies…processions on the side walk, dress code of the day, flowers, candles, and chanting aloud.
