For a freshmen I’m 14/147
I know small school right?? XD
By the end of the school year I think I’ll have moved up a couple places, like maybe 10 or 11th? Idk, Ill edit this when I find out

I went from like 6/~400 to 19/~400 (I say ~400 because our transcripts use the number of different GPAs, so if two people have the same GPA, it only lists them as one person). But I don’t care–I’m not the one working their butt off for a rank because I know I’m not getting into HYSP (my school = ****e; we average 1 or less seniors to an Ivy every year).

9th: 1/~600
10th: 1/~600
11th: Damnation they took away class ranks and just categorize us into deciles.

At my school, it appears on a copy of our transcripts. And we get them every year at registration time (February), unless you ask for them. It’s pretty much just there.
Class Rank: X/XXX
And, for us, it’s calculated by your weighted GPA. which is done pretty differently than most schools.

@Karaokemachine:
Hahahahh woww.That suckss.

Wow this is weird.
At my school, class rank isn’t calculated for colleges.
I got Valedictorian though :). The process is really complicated.

1/~380 —> 2/~380 (for literally one day) —> 1/~380

I don’t know what happened that changed my rank for a single day partway through a semester…but who cares? We’re graduating!!!

freshman: 1 i dunno my class size but it is pretty big… tied with a bunch of other people due to a relatively new AP program
sophomore: 3 others started taking more APs…

i’ll get back to ya on this year…

Wow some of you guys are amazing.
I want to take band, and there’s no honor for band until 11th. so I probably won’t rank very high. I’m good though in my class, always get As. :)

Rank in most schools is dependent on weighted gpa, otherwise it would be tougher to distinguish. In schools that “do not rank,” they still rank, they just don’t show it to you unless you ask the gc.

2/580 –> 17/580 –> 6/580.

9th: 1/415
10th: 1/??
11th: 2/308

In middle school, I was 7/139. I really messed up my freshman year (by getting a B) and so I’m 19/143. I’m so irritated.

Why do some people’s classes drop in number so much?
Like PinkLover, your’s went from 415 to 308?

I was like 2/315 at the end of freshman year, and I’ll find out for the end of sophomore year in like a week

End of freshman year: 3/~300
End of soph’s 1st sem: 2/~300
End of sophomore year: 1/~300

Every time I ask the counselor for my rank, she gives me this funny look. It makes me feel guilty and stupid for caring so much. Did you get that look when you ask for your rank?

All throughout high school I have gotten straight As and have taken honors and Ap courses if offered. My current school ranks you on average grade point average of all your classes( out of 100), and does not weight honors or ap classes = /.

Freshmen year, my school didnt rank us.

moved

Sophmore 16/400

Junior 13/387

I am positive if my school weighted classes differently i would be ranked in the top ten.

1/150
5/140
8/134
13/120

Just stopped caring :(

13, 11, 9, 6, 5, hopefully I’ll stay at 5 after this semester (when colleges will see my transcript)
Out of 269-272

My school changes pretty drastically too, it’s a pretty normal public school, but all the seniors I’ve asked, when they hear that our class (biggest the school has had since before another high school nearby opened) has a little over 400 students, assure me that it’ll go down. I’m not quite sure how many exactly we have now, but it’ll definitely go down about 100 students by the time I become a senior.

You all have pretty small schools…

I was 16/1300 after sophomore year, 6/1200 after first semester of junior year, and I don’t know about this semester yet…

The first and only time I checked was in the middle of this past year - 11/242. Might have gone up since second semester grades were entered, but percentage rank will probably stay the same. At least I can say my school is competitive, though (we’re an IB school, so once you get into the top 15 it’s kinda crazy…).
