<p>Did you submit an ACT? </p>
<p>You must submit at least one standardized test. I do not understand your father’s advice, but perhaps you are not being clear. If you have not submitted a test score, your application is incomplete, and would not be considered. Also, the deadline for regular decision at UM was a full month ago. </p>
<p>Admission standards at UM are not less than NYU, so I am unsure what your plan is. I am also assuming, possibly incorrectly, that when you say NYU AD you mean ED. </p>
<p>UM uses a six point holistic process from admission. The points are GPA, course rigor, testing, recommendation, essays and extra curriculars. </p>
<p>On the face of it, your testing is low, but we do not have a full picture of your application. </p>
<p>I hope you have applied to more than two schools, because both schools are challenging to be accepted to, and neither one was a safety. </p>
