<p>When it comes down to it, how important are essays to Northwestern in comparison to GPA and ACT/SAT scores?</p>

<p>Are they just used when it comes down to applicants who are borderline of being accepted or does it actually have a major impact on your chances of being admitted?</p>

<p>...yuck, I'm afraid I tried to seem too scholarly with large words in my essay and now fear that my chances may have decreased from a bad essay.</p>
