<p>For the top schools, they matter quite a bit. However, most schools tend to consider SAT/ACT scores much more heavily.</p>
<p>I would say only the top 30-50 schools consider them. For schools below that, they don't consider them/they aren't required. Though the SAT is more important than the SAT II's, they are still significant, and are probably about 8-10% of your application.</p>

<p>Not really. APs are purely optional, it just looks good for colleges and (maybe) saves you from having to take that course in college. SAT IIs are required for top schools, just check their website to see if you actually need them. Most schools if the need SAT IIs want two, I think Harvard wants three, so it really depends. You should be fine if you score around/above a 750, maybe lower; grades, SATs, etc are far more important.</p>
