After submitting applications for November deadlines, how important are senior year grades after that? Is it fine to just stay an average student (3.8-4) GPA rather than go above 4 all the time? Do we really need these last semester grades?
Some schools require mid term reports and will want to see your first semester grades. Beyond that, don’t drop low enough that you risk having an offer rescinded.
That said, keeping up with grades and work ethic will help you next year in college.
As stated college’s want to see that your still competitive and also getting ready for next year so don’t let up. Be as prepare for college as you can be. It’s much tougher then anything your doing now.
Keeping them up is a good idea. If you want to transfer, your whole high school transcript will matter. It could also help if you are on a WL - you will shine vs everyone who coasted. RD schools will want to see you mI’d year grades. The student you are now is the closest one to the one who will matriculate.
A 3.8, though, will not worry anyone.
Yes, 3.8 to 4 is fine. But realize when you go to college you will need to do that 4.0+ effort
