How important are the essays?

<p>I just want to add that one of my friends thought my commonapp essay about a person who influenced me was cliche. But my GC loved it. She actually showed it to other counselors and said this is the kind of stuff you want to read just to have a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.</p>

<p>So keep in mind that the opinions of teenagers and adults can be really different.</p>

<p>Yeah that is true. I did my commonapp essay on the same topic, a person who influenced me, and I think it is pretty cheesy but I do really mean what I say, and so I hope they think I am not just trying to load on a story.</p>

<p>I had a history teacher, my TOK/English teacher and my best friend read through my essays so I think I got a variety of perspectives.</p>
