Yeah.. we didn't catch that sarcasm :)

what? 300-400 pts?

I have a double legacy to harvard, am I'm planning on applying there when I get deferred from princeton (or maybe I'll get lucky and get in?). My parents talked about harvard occasionally when I was a kid, and they joked that if I went to harvard I could come home on weekends to visit them. I the fact that harvard is so close to me has something to do with the fact that I don't want to go there all that much, but also it's that I don't want to do exactly what my parents did. They are both scientists and I'm also interested in science. I know that my parents will try to help me find research opportunities, but I don't really want that. I'd rather be independent.

In summary, I think many kids apply to their legacy schools because of the advantage they get, but I bet many of them do so grudgingly and don't have that legacy school as their first choice. College is all about independence, and following in your parents footsteps doesn't make you feel like you're your own man (or woman).

Besides, harvard kinda suc k s for undergraduate education. Princeton owns.

lol wow. that really says something about ur love of P'ton if both ur parents are harvard alums(and ur still not EAing there)
